Cut Above gentlemens hairdressers are two spacious, modern salons situated in Exeter and Exmouth, in Devon. We do nothing but cut mens hair, very well. For years we have felt that men have had a raw deal when it comes to hairdressing, either having to endure small, old fashioned barbers shops, with limited styles, cramped conditions and long waiting times or so called 'unisex' salons, which, in truth, cater primarily for women. There you have to book well in advance, usually are attended to by some of the less qualified or inexperienced staff and have to pay over the odds for your haircut.

Here at Cut Above, we aim to redress the balance. All our staff are fully qualified and experienced, and can offer a full range of styles to suit all tastes. Our main aims are straightforward:

You may argue the point that all hairdressers offer the above, but in reality do they? It is our experience that most hairdressers want you to do things their way, not yours. For instance, you do not have to book in advance, although you can if you wish. We are also open all day Saturday, why do the others close early? There are discounts for pensioners and boys under 12 years of age. Both shops are on the ground floor, offering easy access, are easy to find and conveniently located in both cases.

All men and boys have hair (in various quantities), and it will need cutting. That is a fact of life. We promise that when you visit us, we will do our very best to ensure your time and money is well spent.

During the course of 2005 and early 2006, the Exmouth Salon was extensively refurbished to give it a light, bright and more modern feel. New lighting has improved the overall feel of the salon, while the new ceiling, flooring and decor have brought it bang up to date. Why not come and see it for yourselves?
